The Jim Richmond Backcountry Aviation Foundation's 2025/2026 fundraising raffle is your chance to win some great prizes—but even more importantly, every ticket you purchase directly supports our mission to expand public backcountry aviation access for current and future generations of aviators.
We do this primarily by acquiring private property in remote areas, developing the necessary aviation infrastructure, and opening those properties to the public for recreation and enjoyment. We also work to educate the general public about the importance of backcountry aviation, while at the same time teaching pilots best practices for flying in these unique environments. Additionally, we document and preserve the history of the properties we acquire and assist other backcountry stakeholders in using aviation to accomplish their missions in remote areas. Visit our website at www.jrbaf.org to learn more.
In this, our second ever raffle, we feature a true backcountry beast of an aircraft: a 1958 Cessna 182A modified for primitive airport and remote area operations. We chose this aircraft to appeal to an even broader segment of the pilot community. With its tricycle gear and four-seat configuration, we hope to see entire families heading into the backcountry for unforgettable aviation adventures!
As is our tradition, we make it easy to say yes to winning. JRBAF pays the federal taxes on the grand prize, eliminating a major financial hurdle for many potential winners. Plus, for added flexibility, we’ve introduced a $100,000 cash alternative—a new option for non-aviators who may prefer cash over the aircraft. Either way, it’s a win that supports a great cause.
Additional great prizes will be added along the way. Expect exciting travel packages, flight training opportunities, aviation experiences, and high-quality backcountry aircraft gear.
Please read our official rules below, and thank you for your support. Every contribution—big or small—makes a significant difference!

All tickets sold are considered as having been sold in the State of Idaho, regardless of the purchaser’s actual location. By purchasing a ticket, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the laws of the State of Idaho. Participants do not need to be present at the drawing to win prizes.
2. Ticket Limits and Numbers
You may purchase as many Raffle tickets as you wish; however, only 25,000 tickets will be issued. Each ticket will bear a unique number and no numbers will be duplicated. If you purchase multiple tickets, each will have a different number. Ticket numbers will be emailed to the address you provide. JRBAF is not responsible for lost or misdirected emails. If you do not receive your ticket numbers within 24 hours of purchase, please contact us at jimrichmondfoundation@gmail.com.
3. Deadline

If your purchase is received after all 25,000 tickets have been sold or after the deadline, it will be fully refunded. Beyond this refund, JRBAF bears no liability for purchases that cannot be processed due to these limits.
4. Drawing Details
The winner(s) will be selected by random drawing at the 45 Ranch, located at 4904 45 Ranch Road, Owyhee County, ID 83604, on or before June 6, 2026.

This election must be made in writing and submitted to JRBAF no later than July 7, 2026. The cash prize will be paid by check or other certified funds within 30 days of JRBAF receiving all required documentation, including completed tax forms.
